Utah 2026 withholding from source 1. Uses the 4.45% schedules in effect from June 1, 2026; earlier 2026 paychecks used 4.5%.

Paychecks in Utah

  • Utah withholds a flat 4.45% of wages, minus a small base allowance that phases out by 1.3% of wages above a threshold, under schedules for pay periods beginning on or after June 1, 2026.
  • Utah has no state withholding form: employers use the federal Form W-4 and read only its filing status, so dependents and other federal W-4 entries do not change Utah withholding.
  • Pay periods from January through May 2026 used the older 4.5% rate, so the calculator's figures run slightly lower than those earlier paychecks.
  • Utah has no local income taxes and no employee-paid state disability, paid leave or unemployment deductions.
