Paychecks in Oregon
- Oregon withholding uses brackets from 4.75% to a top rate of 9.9%, and the formula first subtracts part of the employee's federal income tax withholding, up to $8,750 a year and phasing out at higher wages.
- Allowances on Form OR-W-4 each cut annual withholding by $263, but they are ignored once annual wages exceed $100,000 for single filers or $200,000 for married filers.
- Paychecks also carry Paid Leave Oregon at 0.6% of wages up to $184,500 and the statewide transit tax at 0.1% of all wages, and the calculator includes both.
- Employees working in the Portland Metro area or Multnomah County who earn $200,000 or more generally have the Metro Supportive Housing Services and Preschool for All income taxes withheld; the calculator does not include them, but you can enter a combined custom local rate.
